Juan Antonio March (born 27 February 1958 in Barcelona) is a Spanish diplomat and the current Ambassador of Spain to India, also accredited to Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. A Law graduate from the University of Barcelona, he joined the diplomatic service in 1987. He served as Ambassador to the Russian Federation (2007–2011), and is Permanent Representative to the United Nations, WTO and other international organisations in Geneva. He has held senior roles in the European Union as a member of Commissioner Claude Cheysson’s cabinet and has also served at the OCDE in Paris and in Spain as Director General for Latin America and Vice President of the International Aid Agency. Ambassador March fosters cultural, educational and economic links between Spain and its partners, and in New Delhi, he has actively promoted collaborations in trade, renewable energy, culture and higher education.
