Apratim Mukarji

Apratim Mukarji is a veteran in conflict reporting. He cut his teeth covering the Naxalbari Movement in its bloody days in West Bengal for the famed Amrit Bazar Patrika. His next obvious vocation was to report the raging Sri Lankan civil war when he joined the Hindustan Times in Delhi. He has authored three books on Sri Lanka so far. As a foreign correspondent, Mukarji has travelled extensively across Afghanistan acquiring knowledge and sources in his first trip in 2002.

Swaraj Kumar Chakrabarti

Swaraj Kumar Chakrabarti, a retired Chemical Engineer from Ohio EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), USA has had a deep connection with literature (both in English and in Bengali) from childhood. He has been a frequent contributor to Amritam magazine published by Bipul Kumar Gangopadhyay, Kolkata. He was the chairman of the North America Bangamela conference and is an active member and past President of Central Ohio Bengali Cultural Association. He has written small articles throughout his life, and he plans to put them together so that a book can be published. He is, along with Dr Amitava Sanyal, the English translator of Bipul Kumar Gangopadhyay’s book Sadhu Sannidhey Rabindranath. Since he is passionate about Rabindra and Nazrul, he has produced the documentary Achena Ajana Rabindra o Nazrul. Dr Amitava Sanyal, PhD (Pharmacy), MBA, has worked in the pharmaceutical industry both in India and in the USA in senior management positions. He retired from Abbott Laboratories, USA in 2013, after 36 years. Since childhood he has been an ardent fan of Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore, and enjoyed reading all available information on them. He played an active role as Secretary of the Science Club, Kolkata and as founder member of Central Ohio Bengali Cultural Association, had organised several charitable, cultural, and educational events. He came in contact with the spiritual writer Sri Bipul Kumar Gangopadhya in 1999 and was very impressed by his books, from which he found lots of unknown information about his heroes. At Bipulda’s request he agreed to translate the book on Rabindranath Tagore among Saints, jointly with Swaraj Chakrabarti.

Anjana Varma

With a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam, and a Master's from Madras University, Anjana Varma has a solid foundation in the world of words. For nearly two decades, she led a centre for English Language Studies. But her heart belongs to her home in Tripunithura, Kochi, where she embraces her role as a wife and mother alongside writing. History, especially Kerala history, and genealogy are her fields of interest.

Shrabana Barua

Shrabana Barua is a Research Fellow at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), Sapru House, New Delhi. She is also a Visiting Fellow at NIICE, Kathmandu. Her research focuses on geopolitics of South and Southeast Asia, particularly Pakistan, China, India and Myanmar. Her PhD is from Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Earlier, she worked with Gateway House, Mumbai. She has published several articles and book reviews in reputed journals and presented papers at national and international conferences. She writes regularly for the Hindustan Times on global politics.
